A Certificate of Conformity of the Customs Union (CU) is a document required for products being imported into countries that are members of the Customs Union. The Customs Union comprises several countries, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. This certificate verifies that the products meet the technical regulations and standards of the Customs Union.
The process of obtaining a Certificate of Conformity involves demonstrating compliance with the applicable technical regulations, which may include testing, documentation review, and sometimes factory audits. The specific requirements vary depending on the type of product and the relevant technical regulations.
Once issued, the Certificate of Conformity allows the products to be legally imported and sold within the Customs Union member states without further regulatory barriers. It serves as proof that the products meet the necessary safety and quality standards.
It’s important for importers/exporters to ensure their products comply with the technical regulations of the Customs Union and obtain the necessary documentation, such as the Certificate of Conformity, to avoid delays and complications during customs clearance.
